MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific accountabilities of this role will be flexible and may change to meet the needs of the service users and the organisation as required but will include or be equivalent in nature to those listed below:

* Lead on delivery of the Healthy Child Programme across the community of Barnet.
* To work in partnership with parents, carers, children, young people, Children Centres, Children Social Care, Primary Care, the voluntary sector, and other members of the multiagency team in delivering public health services that are tailored to meet the needs of individuals and the community.
* To work in collaboration with health partners and other agencies to implement the Barnet Early Help Strategy.
* To ensure that children that are identified as SEND and those with complex health needs and their families receive early intervention and support from the wider multi-agency team.
* To identify vulnerable children and adults at risk, initiating safeguarding and child protection procedures in accordance with Solutions 4 Health and the Barnet Safeguarding Children Partnership and Safeguarding Adults Board policies and procedures.
* To attend safeguarding statutory meetings, writing case conference reports and Court reports.
* To ensure that the SystmOne electronic records are updated contemporaneously and that records are of a high quality.
* To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
* To be innovative and adaptable to different approaches to delivering the service.

ESSENTIAL

* BSc (Hons) Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) or equivalent
* Full UK Driving Licence
DESIRABLE * Teaching/Mentorship qualification
* Evidence of ongoing learning & professional development


KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL

* Knowledge of the NMC Code of conduct
* Knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme
* Knowledge of normal child development
* Knowledge of current political drivers relevant to children and young people e.g., healthy eating/lifestyles, smoking cessation, behaviour management, positive parenting
* Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and improving quality in the services provided
* Knowledge of clinical and safeguarding supervision
* Knowledge of how inequality impacts on health
* Knowledge of the audit process and evidence-based practice to promote good health
* Knowledge of the legislation and guidance that underpins the safeguarding of children, young people and adults.
* Experience of coordinating clinical/skill mix staff.
* Experience of working in integrated teams
* Demonstrates good leadership skills
* Experience of conducting clinical audits and risk assessments
* Knowledge and skills necessary for the development, documentation, and evaluation of health promotion programs
* Experience of working within a range of health settings
