We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Manager to join our local authority client in Yorkshire. As the Service Manager for Asset Strategy & Performance, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic, operational, and financial management within the service area. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and coordinate strategy and performance functions across Assets, Building Safety, and Development Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Service in strategic planning, operational management, and financial oversight.
  • Lead and coordinate strategy and performance functions across various teams.
  • Establish performance management and monitoring regimes, driving service improvement initiatives.
  • Introduce and implement Standard Operating Procedures in line with Service EQFM approach.
  • Contribute to team approach to data and intelligence development.
  • Build key relationships to ensure holistic planning and programming.
  • Champion the delivery of Asset Management Strategy, ensuring alignment with Kirklees Housing Standard.
  • Oversee a team of strategy, project, and performance specialists, including line management responsibilities.
  • Monitor and support commissioning and procurement processes, ensuring quality and value for money across programs.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering targets and goals within operational plans.
  • Ability to collaborate with partner organisations to achieve common objectives.
  • Previous experience with data input and maintenance of databases/Contact Management Systems.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and computer literacy skills.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding Legislation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to drive performance improvement.
  • Strong team working skills coupled with the ability to work independently.
  • Proven experience in budgetary control and management.
  • Full and valid driving license, with ability to use a car for travel.
